  • Brad Lancaster is the local guru on rainwater harvesting, plants for dry climates and has written the definitive books on this topic.
  • Watershed Management Group -  501(c)3 non-profit organization assisting local residents and communities in the water and water resources management.

  • Visit the Tucson Botanical Gardens for a great collection of information about gardening in this climate.
  • Native Seeds/SEARCH – conserves, distributes and documents the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seeds, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwest and northwest Mexico. Holds educational events and sells seeds.
  • Old Pueblo Plant and Seed sells plants, specializing in heirloom, rare & hard to find plants.
  • Natasha Winnick owns Originate, a store specializing in green interior design and products.
  • Ecological Paints locally manufactures one of the first green, friendly water based acrylic urethanes, which has been formulated especially for chemically sensitive people and professional painters.

  • Friends of the Tumacacori Highlands – works to designate approximately 84,000 acres of public land in the Coronado National Forest as Wilderness.
